TAILEM BEND RACECOURSE.
1920's - TAILEM BEND RACECOURSE.
Tailem Bend Racecourse apears to have been built in the 1920's and was used as a real community gather round, meet up place, some other activities that took place here included the annual Show's, Country and Western concerts, Golf and Greyhound Racing. This all finished in 1970 and the venue sat idol for many years.
1970's - TAILEM BEND SPEEDWAY & RALLY CROSS.
With Tailem Bend being situates just 24 km from Murray Bridge and about an hour from the the centre of Adelaide it was idearly suited for motorsport racers and fans, alike.
The horse track was one mile in length so it was ideal as a Long Track venue. Solo's and the Sidecar boys used the big oval on a regular basis.
