1946 - SEEKONK SPEEDWAY.
Seekonk Speedway opened on the 30th of May 1946 and is the longest continually operated family owned race track in the United States. The track has been and still is under the control of the Venditti family who build the Speedway in a very short time.
This paved 1/3 mile semi banked oval has been increased in length over its life to bring it up to what it is today, the track was initially built for Midget racing with Modifieds introduced shortly after, then came the Sedan's the ended up as the Late Model's that we know today.
The venue featured the ability to flood the arena for boat racing, this was done at least once and reported to have been repeated later on.
