1968 - SEARS POINT INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY.
Sears Point International Raceway is a Road course and Dragstrip complex situated on a 1600 acre plot just North of San Francisco.
The raceway opened in 1968 as a simple paved Road course with very little infrastructure and over time has evolved into what we see today.
1981 - GOLDEN STATE RACEWAY.
In 1981 the name of the venue was changed from Sears Point International Raceway to Golden State Raceway.
2002 - SONOMA RACEWAY.
In 2002 Infineon Technologies took control of the naming rights to the venue and changed the name to Infineon Raceway but in a very short period of time renamed it again to Sonoma Raceway.
