PROVO AIRPORT DRAG STRIP

1950 - PROVO AIRPORT DRAG STRIP.
It is believed that a once only Drag Race meeting was ever held at the Provo Airport, on the East West runway.
Approval was granted to the Pro Clutchers Car Club by the Airport and Local Authorities to hold the meeting, but no public were permitted to enter the airport, they had to spectate from outside the perimeter fence.
Fifteen cars entered the days racing on the 1/4 mile marked out strip. Driver Ken Dove was the overall winner.
