In 1955 the speedway was onsold to the owners of the amusement park who paved the 1/2 miler in an effort to attract more of the big name drivers to their new venture.
The speedway was very successful through to 1960's and 1970's, but for unknown reasons the venue was closed down in 1983 and demolished.
