1948 - OPA LOCKA SPEEDWAY.
Racing began at this 1/3rd mile oval paved track in 1948 and continued through until the lease ran out in 1952.
The reason the lease may have not been renewed was, the government of the day wanted to use the land to expand the nearby US Naval Air Station.
