BARKERS POINT SPEEDWAY.
Barkers Point Speedway opened in 1962 as a roughly graded 1/4 mile Dirt Oval speedway. Not much thought had been put into it's location, as the area was a flood plane and it did create problems with the racing. The track was very rough and did more rezemble a scramble track than a speedway. The Speedway was run by the Barkers Point Stock Car Club and the local Lions club. The racing continued through until 1972, when it was decided to shut down the speedway, never to reopen.
