NEW SOUTH WALES CHAMPIONSHIP
In 1935 Midget racing was first introduced to New South Wales at the Sydney Sportsground and was run under the control of National Speedways.

By 1938 the newly formed Midget Car Drivers Association had taken control of the sport, This continued up until 1941 when the second world war broke out, this put a hold on all motorsport racing in Australia and the association disbanded.

With the end of World War 2 many forms of motorsport would continue and flourish, Midget racing would once again resume at the Sydney Sportsground and the Sydney Showgrounds, this time with a new name and association, The Speedcar Association of New South Wales.
