1960 - McRAE SPEEDWAY.
McRae Speedway opened in 1960 as a 1/2 mile dirt oval speedway with big long straights and the corners on one end slightly tighter than the other end. It is believed that the track was used for horse racing prior to Stock Car racing. The venue did operate continuously until 1972 when it was closed.
The speedway did reopen again in 1981 but did close again after 1982, never to reopen. The Speedway has also operated under the name's of Talmadge Speedway and also Telfair County Speedway.
