1966 - LOUISIANA 500 SPEEDWAY.
Louisiana 500 Speedway opened as a 4/10 mile dirt oval track in 1966, but just one year into its troubled life the owners decided to pave the surface.
1968 - DIXIELAND SPEEDWAY.
In 1968 the ownership of the track changed and so did the nane, it was now known as Dixieland Speedway.
1971 - DIXIE INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY.
By 1971 the venue's name had been changed again, this time it became Dixie International Speedway, not long after this the contractors moved in and ripped out the pavement, so the race track could be returned to a dirt surface.
