World Speedway Championship Australia final. 4th February 1978.TITMAN Best in Australia for World Championship'sIt was here tonight at the EKKA that Australia got to see who was the Hottest Solo Riders in our ranks are with the running of the final Australian round.
At the conclussion of tonight racing the top eight riders would progress through to the next stage, that being the Australasian final that is to be held at Western Springs Speedway in Aukland New Zealand.

U S A SpeedcarsThe Australian Speedcar racing team of Ron Wanless, George Tatnell, John Fenton and Howard Revel have tonight challenged and defeated the impressive line up of American drivers, here at the Exhibition Ground in Brisbane. That line up included, Mel Kenyon, Larry Rice, Sleepy Tripp and Hank Butcher.
This meeting was Round one to the test series, with the final point being 77 points to the Australian's and 64 points to the USA.

Round two will be back here again next Saturday night, where you will see a very fired up American team out for revenge, iam sure.

New Zealand v's Australia Sidecar Test Match. 2nd December 1978.K E I T H S E W E L L & N E I L G O U L D 4 from 4as Australia defeats New ZealandThe Australian Sidecar team has comprehensively won the first Sidecar Test Match against the visiting New Zealand side, here at the Exhibition Speedway in Brisbane tonight.
The points tally was boosted by the fact that the Australian pair of Keith Sewell and Neil Gould won for races from four starts.
Also featuring on the program were the thundering Sprintcars. Bruce Sutherland stared on the night with his winning the final from Bob Kelly and Nev Sutherland.

1978 - BRISBANE EXHIBITION SPEEDWAY. 30th December 1978.ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA.
England have won the sixth Solo Test of the 1978 / 1979 England verses Australia, 58 points to 50 points. This win just adds to the Lions unbeaten run in Australia.
The Lions top points scorer and the winner overhaul was Doug Wyer on who finished on 18 points, Michael Lee and Gordon Kennett both earn't 14 points each. For the Kangaroo's, Billy Sanders and Mike Farrell recorded 13 points apiece.
