1952 - BOYD'S SPEEDWAY.
Boyd's Speedway opening in 1952 as a Dirt Oval Speedway. The owner Mr E.A Boyd built and operated the venue. From its inception through until 2020 it large lee owned by Boyd, that's when he onsold it to the Russell family.
Other short term owner's and promoters are also noted throughout the venues life, as well as the many names that the venue has been called. Chattanooga International Raceway, Chattanooga Raceway Park, Tennessee - Georgia Speedway, Stateline Speedway and Tennessee Georgia Raceway.
The race track surface was paved in 1962 to attract Nascar, and indeed it did. Many of the big names including the Allison's and the Petty's just to name a few, won a few big races here.
In 1977 the pavement was ripped up and a new clay surface was brought in.
