1936 - BENALLA STREET RACE.   13th April 1936.

During Benalla's Centenary Celebrations in 1936, a one of motor racing event was held on a 4km triangular shaped road street circuit on the northern outskirts of town.

BENALLA  100-MILE  MOTOR  RACE:  Left   Women who shared the risk ---  Mrs F. B  Deatry with her husband and Miss Xyrs Elliet who travelled with X Laity.  Centre L Murphy the reported winner.  Right Murphy cornering at Hospital Corner.  The result of the race is in doubt as the number of laps travelled has been challenged.
