1905 - BATHURST 11 MILE STREET TRACK. 6th December 1905.
The first known recorded motorcycle street race in Bathurst, took place on Wednsday the 6th of December 1905. The racing was organised by the Bathurst Cycling and Motoring Club under approval from the Bathurst Shire Council.
Two races were contested on the day, the first being for motorcycles only over three laps of the eleven mile track. The race was won by H.F.M. Douglas in a time of seventy miniutes, finishing in second was D Douglas followed by P Cortis in third.
Following this race was a bicycle race of one lap of the same eleven mile track. The track was also referred to as the Esrom Circuit.
