1956 - ASHWOOD SPEEDWAY.

Ashwood Speedway opened in 1956 as a 1/2 mile Dirt Oval Speedway, history would proove that the track was doomed from the start and should never have been built were it was.

The site was a well known Savannah or what some refer to as a flood plane, the track operated through until 1958 when it closed as the entire area flooded, with all that planing and hard work lost.
