1998 - SPEEDWAY CITY. WEST AUSTRALIA v SOUTH AUSTRALIA JUNIOR SEDAN CUP. 4th January 1998This was a rather large deal at the time, a bunch of kids from West Australia had there cars loaded up on a Autotrans car transporter and shipped to Adelaide for a two night challenge, the Saturday nights racing was at Murray Bridge Speedway, with the Sunday night being at Speedway City.It was smiles all round for the west ozzy kids as they won the series with a comfortable margin.The winning line up of drivers from western Australia included Jason Moyle from Bunbury who went on to race Modified Sedans and Late Model Sedans, Eon Robbinson also from Bunbury who finished speedway at the end of junior's, Brad Wright from Perth who went on to race and play a part in getting the new Pro Modified division off the ground in the west, Melissa Murcott from Perth and Daniel O'Farrell from Bunbury, who both drifted out of speedway at the end of there junior racing.Two notable driver from South Australia that went on to bigger things were Steven Lines who went on to race sprintcars and Anthony Beare who could be rated as the most successful Street Stock driver ever in Australia. |
