1975 - ROWLEY PARK SPEEDWAY. 31st January 1975.Easy Win for Phil Herreen after Fenton no Show.Tonight Speedway fans we have been treated to a masterfull display of speedcar racing from our local driver in Phil Herreen, when he blasted his way from position 13 into the lead of the feature on just lap 7.
The race which was the result of last Friday nights washout, originally had current Australian Champion Johnny Fenton in the field but John was unable to make the show tonight, as he had been contracted to race else ware. Herreen's time of 5:23.4 was only 2.3 seconds outside Fenton's 20 lap record. Second home, with a great drive, was Bob McMillan in his Chevy 11. Starting from position eight, Bob grabbed the lead on lap 4 but surrendered it to the flying Herreen 3 lap's latter.

Third home and a very footsore driver was Bill Wigzell in the Supercharged Renault who ended up with scalded feet and made a very hasty exit from the cockpit at the end of the race. On hand to present the trophies was Rex Sandy who raced against Harry Neale, he also brought back a feeling of nostalgia when he used Neale's old number 4 1/2 Speedcar as the pace car.
