BUNBURY CITY SPEEDWAY 2026
Happy New Year all: and its time to prepare that big bad Bullring for the opening race meeting, on the 3rd of January 2026.
410 Sprintcars. Late Model Sedans & SpeedcarsThe opening Show will see three division's on the program, 410 Sprintcar's, the Limited Sprintcar's and the ever popular Street Stock's.
How will the track surface go, Iam sure its in the back of everyone's mind, Management, Driver's, Crew's, Official's and the paying public. The new clay surface has been layed, blended and prepared for racing but has not been tested for the punishment it is about to receive tonight, from the two biggest horsepower division's in Speedway today. the 410 Sprintcars and the Thundering Late Model Sedan's.
But dont panic the general thinking around the curators is the track might be a bit choppy at first but with the constant rolling and compaction from those big spinning soft tyres and the constant grading and watering the Bunbury oval will be capable, very soon of your favorite driver start to once again lower the lap times on a regular basis.
The management team are blessed to have access to various laboritories through venue sponsors were they have been testing clays. This make sure all is ok when it comes to the choice of material's. As you could imagine its a costly exercise removing and replacing a track surface.

OLDFIELD ! OLDFIELD ! OLDFIELD !Damm there good: possibly the most naturally gifted family in speedway in Australia, drive the wheels off it as well as pulling them apart and putting them back together again.
The Oldfields as they are generally known to all have had a long association with Bunbury Speedway, In 2005 three of the boys in Jamie, Jason and Warren finished first, second and third in the Australian Street Stock title here, then continuing on to show us how to put on a extended pit party.
There racing achievements through the entire family have been outstanding at this venue as has also the occasional scrap on the infield or pits and at the animal bar.
Mooving forward to tonight and who layed down this perfect race surface, well, that was Jammie Oldfield, and the racing tonight was at its usual thrilling best, As Jason has wound thing's back a bit he has

Tonight here at Bunbury Speedway the JSRA in partnership with the Bunbury Car Club have put on yet another fantastic display of speedway racing, Hammer down once again these kid's can hold the throttle on the stop and not lift on the big round oval here at Bunbury. At times it is freightning to watch, but these pint sized champions of the next generation really put so much effort into learning their's and the car's limits.
With the JSRA's involvement tonight we had a large field of car, with a good representation of clubs, Cody Watt from the Augusta Margaret Club won the New Stars feature leading home Noah Harrower and Maddison Ambrose in third.
While in the Top Stars the win went to James Comley who led home team mate Noah Bain and in third was Harrison Beres from the Albany Club. Just as a point of interest both winner's tonight are third gerenation racer's from truely great families.
